As part of the FPAN “Rural Tourism Development” Program, we recently held a seminar-meeting for the youth members of the “Four Peaks” club in collaboration with the Armenian Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism Federation. The event aimed to equip participants with essential, life-saving knowledge on how to safely behave during wildlife encounters.
Key topics covered:
Commonly encountered wildlife in Armenia (bears, wolves, wild boars) and their natural habitats.
Techniques to protect yourself and the animal by managing fear and avoiding panic.
Personal accounts from participants about real-life wildlife encounters and how they resolved them.
Interactive drills and a Q&A session with expert wildlife professionals.
The session was met with great enthusiasm and active participation. Future seminars are already planned on snakes, jackals, various felids, and other species.
Our gratitude to the Armenian Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism Federation for their invitation and seamless event coordination.
