FPAN volunteers discovered a Caucasian badger in the area adjacent to the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex. The animal had been injured by a vehicle collision.
Thanks to the volunteers' swift response, the animal was transported to a veterinary clinic and subsequently to the Yerevan Zoo, where it is now under the care of specialists.
This incident once again highlights the importance of biodiversity in the areas surrounding the Complex and Tsitsernakaberd. The presence of wildlife in the area demonstrates that greater attention must be paid to ensuring safe passage conditions for animals.
FPAN is appealing to the Yerevan Municipality and the RA Ministry of Environment to consider the possibility of implementing solutions that ensure safe wildlife movement along the road section adjacent to the Karen Demirchyan Sports and Concert Complex and Tsitsernakaberd.
FPAN is ready to assist by providing relevant information, expert support, and a willingness to cooperate for the purpose of preserving the biodiversity of the area.
